Abandoned: The Woman in The Decaying House

Abandoned: The Woman in the Decaying House is a documentary series on Prime Video, based on Chico Felitti’s podcast, which reveals the story of Hilda Rosa dos Santos, a domestic worker who was kept in conditions analogous to slavery by a couple from Brazil’s upper class. A case that took place in the 2000s and, decades later, regained national attention, going viral in 2022. Challenge: Visually translate two different time periods: the weight of paper, still present in the 2000s, newspapers, police reports, archived documents, the texture of a crime documented through analog means. And the speed of the digital world: feeds, searches, screenshots, virality, and the way the case resurfaced and exploded across social media almost twenty years later. The motion design direction was built around this contrast, recreating and bringing analog textures back to the documents, combined with the digital language of internet culture, resulting in a piece that moves between the archive and the present. The series reached 1st place among the most-watched titles on Prime Video in Brazil following its premiere. Winner of the F5 Award by Popular Jury and nominated for the 2026 Grande Otelo Awards.
